Christian Education Sunday School Vacation Bible School Nursery
Preschool through 5th
grade students from 9:30—10:15 a.m.
Children’s Church is held
during our 10:30 service.
Youth Agnosticism, Atheism, Shamanism, Shintoism, Scientology, Hinduism, Islamism, even Amish, Lutheran, Unitarian, Baptist, what do these religions, sects and denominations teach? If you’ve ever had these questions, then I’d encourage you to check out our next series. The last 6 weeks of Sunday school will begin to help students at least talk about these questions and perhaps come to a few conclusions. Time will be spent each week talking briefly about various religions and denominations that students have suggested. Leaders will do their best to present the facts and then let students ponder and dig deeper, if they’d like to know more. The 6th-12th grade classes will be combined and will meet in the Coach House starting April 20. Come with an open mind, eager to learn and discern more about who God is and how we can love our friends who have different beliefs. Adults, if you could contribute to a specific faith topic, please talk with Andrea soon!
Adults A new series begins April 27 on the prophecies of Isaiah. How could Isaiah’s prophecies deliver words of harsh judgment, restored hope, and gospel news over the course of two centuries? Are these prophecies relevant to modern Christians? Join the Adult Education class on April 27, May 4, and May 11 as we discuss issues of prophecy in the book of Isaiah. This class will be led by Margaret Jumonville, and will meet at 9:30am in Fellowship Hall.
Vacation Bible School
5-4-3-2-1- BLAST OFF!! Mission Control we have lift off…
Space Mission Bible Camp is on its way! Starting June 16th and running through June 20th First Presbyterian Church is offering an
adventure of cosmic proportions with Space Mission Bible Camp.
Each day children will rocket into Bible learning they can see…hear…touch…and even taste! Fabulous Bible stories and lessons, unique crafts, team-building games, lively Bible songs, and healthy treats are just some of the Space Mission Bible Camp activities that will help launch your children on a mission of God’s love. Children will also enjoy our early bird special guests and hands-on activities that happen everyday at 12:45 pm and set the tone for the afternoon’s theme. This year kids will be participating in a hands—on mission project called Hope Packs. Throughout the week children will be bringing and putting together Hope Packs for orphans and other vulnerable children in Zambia and Angola. We will learn about the children we are collecting for and at the end of the week will donate the packs we have made, offering them as a sign of what we have learned throughout the week…. God loves us, therefore go and love others.
We ‘re really excited about VBS and hope you and your kids are too. Space Mission Bible Camp welcomes preschoolers (3-4 year olds) through 4th graders.
Pre-registration is strongly encouraged and registration begins May 1st.
Location: First Presbyterian Church
Dates: Monday, June 16th through Friday June, 20th
Time: 12: 45 pm to 3:15 pm. (Early Bird activities start at 12:45… come early!!) Cost: $8.50 per child
As always, we will need LOTS of help!! This is the time to consider how you and your family could help out with VBS. There are many opportunities to serve! Helping is a wonderful way to connect with the children in our church and to reach out to the new children that come for the week. There will be a volunteer signup sheet in the Gathering Area at VBS table. You can volunteer to help for the week just a day or, even just a couple hours… there is a place for everyone and a need in many areas…. so prayerfully consider being a part of this wonderful ministry in June. Questions? Talk with Cindi in Children’s Ministries. She would be happy to talk with you about where and what you could do to help make VBS a wonderful experience for our kids this year.
